projectdescription
Beginning with John Cage's composition for silence, 4'33" (1952), Ultra-red's performance SILENT|LISTEN invites audience members to enter into the record statements on the AIDS epidemic: where it has been, where it is now, and where it is going. Situated in North American art institutions, the performances draw participation from local AIDS activists, service providers, and people living with HIV and AIDS. This installation was an analysis of the record from seven iterations of SILENT|LISTEN.
